A U-shaped layout of two combined Super-Cor stockpile tunnels made a little AIL Mining history last year. This was the largest plate job ever sold within The AIL Group of Companies and, fittingly, it was for Canada’s largest gold mine — Detour Lake.
This Super-Cor design with reinforced concrete collars was an economical alternative to conventional concrete tunnel designs. This reclaim tunnel, with spans of up to 8.9 m (29′), is designed to support a stockpile height of 26.5 m (87′) at 1.7 T/m3.
One of many AIL Mining infrastructure solutions at this site
AIL Mining’s structural plate products were also used on crusher tunnels, stockpile tunnels, thickener tunnels and haul road crossings at this site. Plus, our MSE Wire Walls were used in the headwalls of the haul road crossings.
Super-Cor is lightweight and strong
Easy to ship and install, our cost-effective structural plate solutions are designed to handle the heaviest of loads and we are constantly working on improving our designs in order to extend the maximum loading.
